Our Last Adventure!

The time came to go home. The adventure we had to get home is quite the story, so let's start at the beginning...

To the mall! Why? You'll see...

:)

OH BOY!!!!

So we decided to get two dogs while we were in Arizona. "Why?" You ask? Well I honestly couldn't tell you, but I can tell you we are so extremely happy that we did it! Please welcome to the family...

EMMA & COOPER

We had to get more ice for our coolers... You know what that means? Liv got hypothermia AGAIN! Whoops :P

Emma and Cooper loved to snuggle up the entire ride home. This is Cooper with Liv!

Okay so now to talk about the adventure! We were on our way home at exactly 5:00PM. We drove and drove and drove. Eventually, it was time to get some dinner (it was almost 10PM). So we went to Taco Bell. We took way too long to take the dogs out so while we were there Taco Bell closed... SO UPSETTING. So we had to go to McDonald's.

Julie kept on driving but, guess what happened next? WE GOT PULLED OVER BY THE COPS. That was fun. He was a pretty nice cop, but we still got a ticket for going 85 in a 75, WHOOPS AGAIN!

After awhile, Julie got tired so she wanted to switch with Grace and have her drive. Grace was way too tired to drive, though. So we pulled into a McDonald's parking lot and slept for like 45 minutes. While we slept, we turned our GPS system off (this wasn't a good idea).

After 45 minutes, Julie felt awake enough to drive some more. I'm not sure how long we drove for before we pulled up to a traffic jam. After sitting there for ONE WHOLE HOUR we asked a truck driver if he knew what was going on. We were informed that there was a traffic jam for 4 miles because someone 4 miles ahead got into a car accident. Unfortunately, the person in the accident died. Therefore, they had to take pictures and do paperwork and etc. He said he had been stopped for 7 hours before in a similar situation. So... we went off road into the median to back track and find a different way.

Oh man... Around 5AM Grace took over and drove the car. She drove for a good portion of the second day but Julie finished off the last part. Before we went home, we had to go to PetSmart to get a kennel and bed for Cooper and Emma. We finally arrived home around 9:30PM. Keep in mind that there is a 2 hour time difference between here and Arizona. So we were in the car from 5PM-7:30PM the next day... It took us 21.75 hours to get to Arizona and it took us 26.5 hours to get back home. Holy Camoley...

So that is our adventure! We didn't take many pictures during this. I think we were all a little tired and just ready to get home. We have decided that we are not sure if we will drive ever again! It was a rough drive home.

This is the last post. Thanks, everyone, for following our blog! We really appreciate all of the support :)

WEDNESDAY: The Light Rail

Today we went to the pool and road on the "train". In our heads, we thought this meant an actual train. Like Thomas the Tank Engine...

WELL it was pretty much a bus on a track. It was public transportation for people who may or may not have cars or other ways to get around. We saw some pretty sketchy people on the bus/train. We also saw people in really nice business clothes with briefcases. It was a very weird experience.

After like an hour on the bus/train, we went to a place called The Old Spaghetti Factory. It was very, very good! All of our food was made perfectly and then Grace got a nice cake too :) Mmmm CHOCOLATE!!

TUESDAY!!

We have planned out our schedule for the last few days we are here. This is what we are doing today!

We started our morning out at the Waffle House. Just the grandparents and grandkids went. Julie had work to do back at home.

TAN LINE UPDATES

:)

Time to go to Organ Stop Pizza. This is the one place we MUST go every year without question!

This is what the place looks like. We usually sit on the second floor.

Sometimes they have cats dance while the music plays. It's very cute :)

Look at all those buttons! The player controls all the sounds, lights, and instruments in the entire place! It is absolutely amazing how he can do all of that without music notes or anything. It's pure memorization.

Next, we went to the mall! It is a very pretty mall. And it has a carousel in it!!

Liv on her dragon.

Patsy on her zebra!

Andrew and his horse.

Grace's giraffe!!!

Julie had a skirt on so she sat on the bench ;)

HAHA it is a little bit blurry...

We got a smiley face stamp afterwards :) YAY!

Noodle News

Today was all about the waiting to hear if the park's activities director was going to be relieved of his duties or not. The ladies in the pool love to gossip about what is happening around the park. So today, we patiently waited for the ladies on the noodles to deliver the news for the day. Hence the name Noodle News. (We did not make this up, the park's residence have made this up to name their gossip time.)
Unfortunately, or I guess fortunately, the man was fired and will no longer be a leader in the park. There were mixed feelings about this, but overall, it seems to be better for the whole park now that he is gone.

SOOOOOO on to our day :)

This morning, Grace slept in later than usual. Everyone else woke up probably an hour before her. Then we all got ready for the day. For lunch, the kids and adults split up. Grace, Liv, and Andrew went to Golden Corral while Julie and Patsy went to another lady's birthday lunch. And then, of course, Grandpa Kenny was... golfing... who woulda thunk?!

She's so pretty!

Julie and Grace look alike?! WHAT?!

Look at Grace's parking job at Golden Corral! ;) pretty darn good!

The very, very tasty caramel, milk chocolate, and white chocolate fountains.

Mmmmmm :)

Liv's strawberry!!

Grace's strawberry!!

Cute, little Andrew in his hat :)

After that, we went to the pool for noodle news (mentioned above). After that, we went up to the club house and ate dinner there for their St. Patty's Day party!

Liv wore her OCU outfit to dinner... She looks pretty good, if you ask me!

Definitely the BEST picture of the day :) haha look at their faces!!!

Lookin' good, kids!

He finally cooperated and took the picture! Julie and Andrew look so happy! It's contagious!!!

Then after watching many episodes of Private Practice (currently Grace's favorite show on Netflix) all the kids went to Cold Stone to get shaved ice and/or ice cream.

Very busy, but very fun day! Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Sunday Funday

Not too much has happened today... We went to the pool, went shopping, went to church, and then to dinner.

Here is what mommy looked like last night when she was sleeping :) Grace took a picture with her!

TAN LINE UPDATE: Day 2

Liv did not go out in the sun today because she burned too badly yesterday. So she went shopping with Grandma.

Julie got to go in the sun today with Grace, though. She is happy about that!

Grace is pretty pumped, too! Day 2 in the sun!! WOO!!! Nice face, Grace ;)

Here are our updated tan lines...

Here are pictures of our scenic route from our shopping adventure to Bealls to get new swimsuits.

After church, the sunset looked so beautiful. It is like a reversed rainbow! So very pretty!!

When we get home, we eat dinner. Grandma says, "Look! Fish!" I guess her pizza crust looked like a fish with its mouth open! And that is our funny for today... haha (well it was Grandma's funny at least, she thought it was funny)
